How to Choose the Right Contraceptive Method
Contraception advice and counseling are essential aspects of reproductive health care. As health care providers it is important to be familiar with a variety of contraceptive methods. Previous research indicates that majority of sexually active women (46%) are on the combined oral contraceptive pill. The Canadian Contraceptive Study also indicates that many women are unaware of alternative forms of contraception such as injectables or intrauterine devices. Currently, there are many new and exciting forms of contraception available and more await approval.
