Newly relaunched sexualityandu.ca website offers new features, sleek new image

Ottawa, Ontario - The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) relaunched
its sexual health website www.sexualityandu.ca, which was
named one of the world’s five best e-health projects at last year’s United
Nations’ Summit on the Information Society. The updated site offers new
features, smoother navigation, and a sleek new image.
New Features:
Contraception Comparisons: Dynamic new content allows users to make
side-by-side comparisons of all the contraceptive methods currently
available in Canada. Produced by a group of leading Canadian experts on
contraception, the new section provides the latest knowledge, specifically
tailored to a Canadian audience.
Getting the word out with the new Media Centre: The site’s new media centre connects journalists with sexualityandu.ca’s extensive pool of sexual health resources, including access to the multidisciplinary panel of health experts behind www.sexualityandu.ca. A one-stop source for journalists and researchers looking for information on contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and a wide range of sexual health issues, the media centre also offers:

- Sexual health backgrounders and fact sheets
- Current Canadian statistical data and trends

About the Contraception Awareness Project
Administered by the SOGC, the Contraception Awareness Project is a national initiative aimed at raising contraception and safer sex awareness in the public as well as in the medical community. Built on three pillars, the Contraception Awareness Project promotes contraception use and adherence; safer sexual practices and; sexual well-being free from coercion. The Contraception Awareness Project administers the sexual health website www.sexualityandu.ca, which was selected as one of the top five e-health applications in the world at the 2005 World Summit Awards in Tunisia.
