sexualityandu.ca is the ultimate Canadian web site committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information and education on sexual health. It is an initiative of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC).
What is Included
- Information on sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraception, lifestyle choices and talking about sex.
- Separate sections created specifically for teens, adults, parents, teachers and health professionals guarantees easy-to-find information that is relevant to audience needs
- New Media Room provides a one-stop source for journalists researching stories on sexuality and contraception.
Traffic to the Site
- From March 2005 to March 2006, sexualityandu.ca received 2.3 million visitors.
- The site also averaged 6,000 unique visitors per day.
- The main page in the Teens area was the most popular audience-based section.
- The "Sex-Fu" Challenge, a fun and interactive game focusing on sex education, is a clear hit with site visitors.
International Recognition and Awards
- Recognized as one of the top five e-health projects in the world at the 2005 World Summit Awards, presented as part of the United Nations Summit on the Information Society.
- Best of Class Award in Healthcare (2001) at the International Web Page Awards.
- Chatelaine also named sexualityandu.ca as one of the 10 best sites dealing with health and wellness (2002).
